Flowers yellow campanulate 3-4 cm long. Conspicuous seed heads with feathery styles. Hard winter prune. (xC) Self seeding so keep under control.

Flowers white 3cm, hawthorn scented, tepals x4 in dichasia (clusters), anthers cream. Deciduous. This form has much heavier branches with the leaves (leaf with 7 small leaves up to 30cm) spaced so it appears more open than the normal form. It's a hexaploid (triple the normal chromosome numbers) as well as being a week or two later in flowering. (xA-B-C) Self seeding so keep under control.

Flowers white 3cm, hawthorn scented, tepals x4, star-like, anthers cream. Deciduous, but in milder zones it can be near evergreen. (xA-B-C) Can be used to cover large areas, trees, fences. In North America this clematis is known as the 'sweet scented autumn clematis'. Self seeding so keep under control.
